Questions for your Copier Representative

Working with a copier leasing company that you trust is an integral part of getting a good deal. Many copier leasing representatives will say whatever they think you want to hear in order to make the sale. That’s why you need to do your part to ask questions to your rep in order to vet them and see if they truly have your best interests in mind.

There are a number of questions you can ask your copier leasing representative. They may try and skim over some parts of your lease, but that’s why you need to push for answers.

Here are some of the best questions you can ask your representative to see if they are being honest with you.

  1. What is the true monthly cost of my lease? Make sure that you understand all the fees, charges, and payments that you are expected to make. Don’t just take your lease price at face-value. Understand what you are getting with your price, and know if there are extra charges for things like prints, repairs, raised rates, or anything else that you may need to know down the road.
  2. What time restraints will I be dealing with? This is mostly in regards to getting help with your copier when you need it. Will someone always be available to help me, or can I only get help during specific hours? Who will be helping me with maintenance and how long will it take for them to get out to your office? How long will it take to get parts in if you need something replaced?
  3. What happens at the end of the lease? Don’t just assume that your company will take care of everything when your lease ends. Know what you are responsible for and know who is in charge of shipping your copier back.

Question your representative aggressively if you think you aren’t getting the whole truth. Don’t let yourself get taken advantage of. Do your part to make sure that you are getting a good price so you don’t pay more than you have to.
